How to open Control Panel in Windows 10

The Control Panel is such a Settings Panel where you can access nearly all the settings about the look and work of Windows. It enables the users to change/customize, on/off different settings and services of windows in the way they like or fit for them. Following are a few common ways to open the Control Panel along with other necessary help like pin to start, pin to taskbar, or creating a shortcut.

1. Find Control Panel With of Windows Search

Type Control Panel in Windows search box and click the Control Panel from the result in the search window.

2. Run Control Panel with Run Command

The Run Command is used to open a document or an application. To run this command  press and hold Win Key then press the R Key. When the window of the command appears, write Control or Control Panel and press Ok

3. Open Control Panel via Command Prompt

Type CMD in the Windows search and click on the command prompt from the results in the search window. Click on any of the Command Prompt words indicating with the "App" word, then write the control panel after C:\Users\username> control panel in the Command Prompt window and hit the Enter key.

Note: Only write the control panel; the rest are available on auto.

Type Control Panel next to C:\Users\username> and press the Enter Key

4. Access Control Panel With via Windows PowerShell

Type Windows PowerShell in the Windows search box and click the PowerShell from the results list. After opening the program window, type the Control Panel after PS C:Users\Username> like in the given order:

PS C:\Users\Username> Control Panel

Note: The "Users" and "Username" are available on auto.

Write Down Control Panel next to PS C:\Users\Username> and hit Entrer Key

5. Enable the shortcut of the Control Panel

Open the Personalization settings, click on Themes, then scroll down and click Desktop Icon Settings under Related Settings. Tick the box anlongside the Control Panel to display the shortcut on Desktop, then Apply and click Ok.

6. Create New Ways To Open Control Panel

To open the control panel new ways can be made by the undermentioned steps.

               a.           To pin it to the start menu
               b.           Pin to Task Bar
               c.            Creating shortcut

Type Control Panel in Windows Search and Right-click the control penal with the indicator word "app" and perform the a to c steps. Click on Pin to start  Or Pin to Taskbar. To create the shortcut, click on the open file location, then Right click the Control Panel, and click on Create shortcut. Now Move or copy it and paste it where you want.


Right click the Control Panel label from the windows search result, then click Pin to start or Pin to taskbar and for creating shortcut click on file location.

How to Unpin it Back

To unpin the Control Panel from Taskbar or Start you need to carry out the following steps.

    1.     You can unpin it from taskbar by Right click on its icon and then click Unpin from taskbar.

    2.    To unpin it from start click on start then Right click on the Control Panel’s icon and click Unpin from start.

How to change the view of Control Panel

To change the view of Control Panel click on the option button next to view by and then select and click small icon , large icon or category. The category view is the default view when you first time open the Control Panel. See the highlighted option button in the screenshot for help.
