How To Open Personalization Settings in Windows 10

The personalization of Windows 10 contains settings of Background, Colors, Theme, Start, Lock Screen, Fonts, and Taskbar etc. Users can manually change and apply effects in the way they like in Personalization settings . There are advance as well as simple ways to open the said settings. Keeping in mind the requirements of average computer users' a few simple ways are being elaborated here. Sometimes, a few specific Settings are off, so learning different ways to open such settings is beneficial.

1. Run the Personalization Settings with the Run Command

To open personalization or any of the above settings, type ms-settings: then the title or name of the setting after the colon (:). For example, if you want to open the personalization setting type ms-settings: personalization then press ok. Below is the screenshot for this action.


To open each setting directly follow the same procedure with minor changes as given in the follow-up examples: ms-settings: background, ms-settings: colors, ms-settings: fonts, ms-settings: themes, ms-settings: taskbar for start you need to type personalization and add a hyphen (-) and then start. Another way to reach all these settings is to type control desktop in the run command and then press ok. See the screenshot for help.  



2. Open the Personalization Settings via Command Prompt

Type cmd in Run Command and press ok, or type cmd in the Windows search box and then click on the command prompt from the search result. The window of cmd command will open. Type start ms-settings: personalization after C:\Users\username> and hit Enter Key. You can apply all the commands mentioned in Run Command procedure here in the Command Prompt with an addition of the word start at the beginning of each command.  3. Open Personalization Settings via Windows PowerShell

The ms-settings can be opened with Windows PowerShell in the same way as in the command prompt. Type all the commands just after PSC:\Users\username>For instance, PSC:\Users\username> start ms-settings: personalization and press Enter Key. For further help, you may check the screenshot. 



 4. Access Personalization Settings through the Control Panel  

Open the Control Penal and Click on Taskbar and Navigation, but if the Control panel is open in the category view then click on “Appearance and Personalization” then Taskbar and Navigation, and the setting will open.



 5. Personalization Settings with the Right Click on Desktop

The quick and easy way to open then personalization settings is Right-click on the desktop with help of a keyboard or mouse and then click Personalize. Take help from the screenshot.



 6. Find the Personalization Settings with help of Windows Search Box

Type the name/title of the settings you want to open in the Windows search box. For instance, to open the background setting, type the background in the search box, then click on the name/title of the setting from the search result. in the same way, you can open the settings of Colorsthemestaskbar, etc.



 7. Personalization Settings through the Windows Start 

Click on the start icon, at the left corner of the taskbar, or press the Win key (the key on the keyboard with the Windows icon) then click the setting’s icon or name, Windows settings will open, navigate to Personalization and press Enter key or click on the personalization title with the mouse.
